Magic the Gathering MTG Magic 2012 core set Booster box contains 36 booster packs with 15 cards each. Released on July 15th 2011, Magic 2012 (M12)  is the third core set to contain new cards. Magic 2010 was the first core set to introduce new cards. The set contains 249 black-bordered cards (15 mythic rare, 53 rare, 60 uncommon, 101 common, 20 basic lands). At least five plainswalkers will be included in the mythic rares.

Magic 2012 is the thirteenth Magic the Gathering core set. It featured the following mechanics;

• Hexproof - Hexproof is a keyword ability replacing the text "cannot be the target of spells or abilities your opponents control". Cards with this ability have been printed in previous sets, but the ability was not called "Hexproof".
• Bloodthirst - When creatures with Bloodthirst are played, they gain a boost to their power and toughness if an opponent was already dealt damage that turn. For example, a 2/3 creature with Bloodthirst 3 could enter the battlefield as a 5/6. Bloodthirst was previously seen in Guildpact and Future sight.
• "Dies" - "Dies" is a term that replaced the phrase "is put into a graveyard from the battlefield". It appears only on creatures
